Betty Pauline Beck Kreutzer, a member of St. John Fisher Parish in Southwest Portland and a resident of Mary’s Woods here, died Dec. 3 of natural causes. She was 82.
MOUNT ANGEL — Eleanor Emily Lemire Corey, a member of St. Mary Parish here, died Dec. 3. She was 83.
SPRINGFIELD — Florence Barbara Spies Kneeland, a member of St. Alice Parish here, died Nov. 30. She was 90.
Mrs. Kneeland was born in 1918, in Douglas, Wyo. Her family moved to Boise where her father taught music and conducted the Boise Boys Band that played for John Philip Sousa. She was the only female member and met Sousa.
HILLSBORO — Jan Howard Burns, a member of St. Edward Parish in North Plains, died Dec. 3 at a care center here. He was 71.
Mr. Burns was born Dec. 14, 1936 in Roundup, Mont. He was raised and received his education in Billings, Mont., where he attended Billings Senior High School, graduating in 1955.
Jean E. Boucher Fleck, a member of Ascension Parish in Southeast Portland, died Nov. 15. She was 94.
Mrs. Fleck was born Feb. 1, 1914, in Thorne, N.D. She moved to Portland in the early 1940s and was a homemaker and a member of the church for more than 50 years. In 1936, she married Frank Fleck; he died in 1997.
HILLSBORO — Pauline Mary Plesnik VanDehey, a member of St. Matthew Parish here, died Dec. 7. She was 93.
WEST LINN — Rosalie Ann Laccinole Summerville, a member of St. John the Apostle Parish in Oregon City, died here Dec. 1. She was 68.
Mrs. Summerville was born Sept. 18, 1940, in Clackamas County. She graduated from St. John the Apostle School and attended West Linn High School. She married Melvin Summerville in 1957.
MYERS, Mont. — Dominican Sister Renilde Cade, who worked as a teacher in Portland, died Nov. 13 from a brain injury caused by a fall.
Sister Cade was born in 1932 and spent her early years in Montana. Her family later moved to Portland. After attending Blessed Sacrament Elementary School, she graduated from Immaculata Academy.
WASHINGTON — Charles Francis Wood, father to Father Charles Wood, parochial vicar at St. Henry Parish in Gresham, died Nov. 18 here. He was 80.
Mr. Wood was born in Washington D.C., on Nov. 8, 1928. He served in the Army from 1951 to 1953.
Except for one year working at George Washington University immediately after leaving the Army, he began career-long government work.
Dolores Theresa Burgoyne Eklund, a member of St. Mary Parish here, died Nov. 19. She was 99.
Mrs. Eklund was born Oct. 26, 1909, in Castle Rock, Wash. She was a homemaker. She married Cecil Eklund in 1930.
She is survived by her children, JoAnn Ayers; Jeanne Gaze; Judy Eklund; Janelle Eklund; and Jerry Eklund; 15 grandchildren, 14 greatgrandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
