Betty Kay Briedenback Welch, a member of St. Charles Parish in Northeast Portland, died Oct. 25 of cancer. She was 69.
Mrs. Welch was born April 4, 1939, in Portland. She graduated from Lincoln High School, and received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Portland State University. She married Donald Welch in 1963. They divorced in 1986. She worked as an administrator/teacher for Portland Public Schools, primarily in special education. She retired in 2002.
She is survived by her sons Kris and Todd Welch and two grandchildren.
