ROY — Willis Anthony Meeuwsen, a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish here, died Nov. 2. He was 62.
Mr. Meeuwsen was born Jan. 27, 1946, in Forest Grove. He was raised on a family farm in Roy, and attended St Francis of Assisi Grade School through the eighth grade. He attended Banks High School and was a graduate from the Class of 1964. He attended Oregon State University and received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture in 1968.
After graduating from OSU, he enlisted in the Army, serving in Vietnam. He married Carol Smith in 1970 in Salem. Following their marriage they made their home on the family farm in Roy were they have resided for the last 38 years.
He helped operate the family business, retiring from dairy farming in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons Andy Meeuwsen, LaPine; Jay Meeuwsen, Turner; Dan Meeuwsen, Banks; sister Linda Roshak, Scholls; sister Norma Henry, Hillsboro; sister Nancy Houston, Lynnwood; brother Ken Meeuwsen, Cornelius; brother Joe Meeuwsen, Banks; brother Tony Meeuwsen, Banks; brother Tony Meeuwsen, Banks; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
