Having to do with handshakes

To the Sentinel:
Very nice letter from Charlie Young in Bend on holding hands in church, etc.
While this is a nice gesture for many people, there are those who, at times, would prefer to pass on it. Having had my hand grabbed in a vise-like grip by a strong gentleman or having someone who has a bad cold and has just wiped his/her nose, I would also like to pass.
In the spirit of “joy, peace, patience, etc.,” not to mention Christian charity, it would be a thought to extend one’s hand and if it is clasped, well and good, but if it is not, then think kindly that the other person has a good reason for not joining hands.
